In Faith, Unity;
In Opinion, Liberty;
In All Things, Charity.
Part 2
Ephesians 4:1-6

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy
of the vocation wherewith ye are called,  With all lowliness and
meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope
of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father
of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  (KJV)

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.  (KJV)

2 John 1:9-11

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ,
hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both
the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not
this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God
speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil
deeds.  (KJV)

Facts to be believed.

John 20:30-31

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples,
which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye
might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his name.  (KJV)

Commands to be obeyed.

Matthew 7:21-23

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is
in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and
in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess
unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Promises to be received.

2 Peter 1:2-4

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of
God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath
given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through
the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having
escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  (KJV)

Express Command –

What God commands must be taught & done. Direct statements.

Implication –

What God necessarily implies must be taught & done.
We infer, God implies.

Approved Apostolic Example –

What was done by the church with divine approval must be

Non-essentials –

Circumcision or Eating of meats.

Methods –

In order for something to be expedient, it must first be lawful.

1 Corinthians 6:12-13

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all
things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of
any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall
destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for
the Lord; and the Lord for the body.  (KJV)

1 Corinthians 10:22-33

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? All
things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things
are lawful for me, but all things edify not. Let no man seek his own,
but every man another's wealth. Whatsoever is sold in the shambles,
that eat, asking no question for conscience sake: For the earth is the
Lord's, and the fulness thereof.  If any of them that believe not bid
you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before
you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. But if any man say
unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake
that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's,
and the fulness thereof: Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the
other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? For
if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I
give thanks? Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do,
do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor
to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in
all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that
they may be saved.  (KJV)

Galatians 2:3-5

But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to
be circumcised: And that because of false brethren unawares
brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have
in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we
gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the
gospel might continue with you.  (KJV)

Galatians 5:9-18

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. I have confidence in you
through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that
troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. And I,
brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer
persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. I would they
were even cut off which trouble you. For, brethren, ye have been
called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh,
but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word,
even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite
and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of
another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the
lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that
ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye
are not under the law.  (KJV)

1 Peter 2:11-16
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain
from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your
conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak
against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they
shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.  Submit yourselves
to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the
king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by
him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that
do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to
silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your
liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.  (KJV)

Romans 14:1-23

Ephesians 4:7-16
