In the midst of a nation such as the USA which
is known as "Christian," it would seem that a
discussion of whether there is a Supreme Being
or not would be unnecessary. But, the opposite
is true. There are many individuals who reject
the idea of God. Many say that there is just not
enough evidence to determine the matter. But,
we can know there is a God.

All four Gospels are an attestation to the concept
that faith, Biblical faith, is based upon solid
evidence, or proof. In John 20:30,31 the apostle
points out that he presented proof, and could
have presented more, that Jesus was the Son of
God. Theophilus did not have to guess, or take a
blind leap into the dark; he could "know the
certainty of those things'' (Luke 1:3). Faith
without fact is like a tree without roots, dead and
barren. We do not need to take a blind leap into
the dark to have faith; we merely have to accept
the proof.

We can prove that God exists, even as we can
prove George Washington existed. We cannot
see God, but neither can we see George
Washington. We do not need to see, touch, hear,
taste, or smell something to know it (or he)
exists or has existed. Yet, we still know that
these things exist or have existed. It is not a
blind leap into the dark.

One way we can prove God exists is that for every effect there is a cause. The universe is;
therefore, there is a Creator who was its beginning. An effect cannot be its own cause. In other
words, the universe could not have created itself. The laws of science call for a cause outside
of the universe for its beginning.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).

Only the Almighty is a sufficient cause for the existence of the vast beauty of the universe. The
very existence of the universe proves God exists.

''The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament
shows His handiwork" (Psalm 19:1).

We can prove God exists realizing that every design has a designer. The common design of all
biological species, and of all of nature, points to one designer.

One merely has to look at himself, the design of the circulatory system, the nervous system, the
skeletal system, the digestive tract, the muscle system, etc.; and, he will declare with the
psalmist to God: "I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are Your
works'' (Psalm 139:14).

God's existence is proved from the realization: Order must come from Order; Disorder comes
from Order; Order can not come from Disorder.

Our universe has order, or natural law; therefore, this order, or natural law, must come from
order, or from a lawgiver. The natural cycle of rain, the natural laws of procreation, and the
rotation of the seasons all show that our world is one of order and natural law; therefore, it also
has One who has set these laws in motion: God.

"Nevertheless He left not Himself without witness, in that He did good, and gave us rain from
heaven, and a fruitful season, filling our hearts with good and gladness" (Acts 17:17).

"For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are
without excuse" (Romans 1:20).

The existence of God is proven by the fact that man is God-conscious. Man alone in creation is
a worshipper. No animal, plant or rock worships. If worship is a primitive animal instinct, then
why do not the animals worship? It transcends the realm of the animals. The only explanation
is that there is something which sets man apart from the animals, from all the other creation of
God. Man alone has a soul (Genesis 1:26,27). Man alone had God revealed to him. Man alone
worships. Only the existence of God can account for this peculiarity of man.

Finally, the Bible proves the existence of God. Only God can be responsible for the existence of
the Bible. Every page, every thought, and every fact concerning the contents, preservation, and
power of the Bible point to a Supernatural origin. The thousands of times the Bible claims to be
revelation from God; the very concepts described within the Sacred Scriptures, which can only
be of Divine origin: the unerring accuracy of its political, social, historic and scientific facts; the
miraculous elements of its prophecy; the pure preservation of the Bible throughout the ages;
and, the unequaled effect the Scriptures have had upon humanity, all point to the existence of
the God whom it reveals.

Every manner of proof points conclusively to the existence of God. Even though any one of
these arguments is conclusive proof that God exists, all of these arguments taken together are
such that to deny God, one must reject any rational process of establishing any proof in any

"The fool has said in his heart, There is no God" (Psalm 53:1).

"So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build
you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified." (Acts 20:32)
