"And My servant David will be king
over them, and they will all have one
shepherd; and they will walk in My
ordinances, and keep My statutes,
and observe them."
"`And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Are by no means least among the
leaders of Judah; For out of you shall
come forth a Ruler, Who will
shepherd My people Israel.'"
There will be no end to the increase
of His government or of peace, on the
throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it with
justice and righteousness from then
on and forevermore. The zeal of the
LORD of hosts will accomplish this.
the throne of David
"He will be great, and will be called
the Son of the Most High; and the
Lord God will give Him the throne of
His father David; and He will reign
over the house of Jacob forever; and
His kingdom will have no end."
Thy throne, O God, is forever and
ever; A scepter of uprightness is the
scepter of Thy kingdom. Thou hast
loved righteousness, and hated
wickedness; therefore God, Thy God,
has anointed Thee with the oil of joy
above Thy fellows.
"Of old Thou didst found the earth;
and the heavens are the work of Thy
hands. Even they will perish, but Thou
dost endure; and all of them will wear
out like a garment; like clothing Thou
wilt change them, and they will be
changed. But Thou art the same, and
Thy years will not come to an end."
But of the Son He says, "Thy throne,
O God, is forever and ever, and the
righteous scepter is the scepter of His
kingdom. Thou hast loved
righteousness and hated
lawlessness; therefore God, Thy
God, hath anointed Thee with the oil
of gladness above Thy companions."
And, "Thou, Lord, in the beginning
didst lay the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the works of
Thy hands; They will perish, but Thou
remainest; and they all will become
old as a garment, and as a mantle
Thou wilt roll them up; as a garment
they will also be changed. But Thou
art the same, and Thy years will not
come to an end."
"But as for you, Bethlehem
Ephrathah, too little to be among the
clans of Judah, from you One will go
forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His
goings forth are from long ago, from
the days of eternity."
And Joseph also went up from
Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to
Judea, to the city of David, which is
called Bethlehem, because he was of
the house and family of David, in
order to register, along with Mary,
who was engaged to him, and was
with child.... And she gave birth to her
first-born son; and she wrapped Him
in cloths, and laid Him in a manger,
because there was no room for them
in the inn.
(Luke 2:4-5, 7)
"So you are to know and discern that
from the issuing of a decree to
restore and rebuild Jerusalem until
Messiah the Prince there will be
seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it
will be built again, with plaza and
moat, even in times of distress.
Now it came about in those days that
a decree went out from Caesar
Augustus, that a census be taken of
all the inhabited earth. This was the
first census taken while Quirinius was
governor of Syria.
"Therefore the LORD Himself will give
you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be
with child and bear a son, and she will
call His name Immanuel.
Now in the sixth month the angel
Gabriel was sent from God to a city in
Galilee, called Nazareth, to a virgin
engaged to a man whose name was
Joseph, of the descendants of David;
and the virgin's name was Mary....
And the angel said to her, "Do not be
afraid, Mary; for you have found favor
with God. And behold, you will
conceive in your womb, and bear a
son, and you shall name Him Jesus."
(Luke 1:26-27, 30-31)
