Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are
just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good
report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy -- meditate on these
things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do,
and the God of peace will be with you.
What do you think about? Are you depressed? Are you downhearted? or, Are you happy? Are
you at peace? It all depends upon what you think about, as well as what you do.
If you think about your problems, they will grow like an ugly fungus, or a tough piece of meat
that you just keep chewing. Think of the good things of life. Think of the happy things. Think
of the lovely things. You will surprised how your mood changes!
But, if you wish to have that feeling permanent, you must also learn to do the things which are
good, do the things which are just, do the things which are pure, do the things which are holy,
do the things which are of good report, do the things which show virtue, do the things which
are worthy of praise from God and man.
Self-esteem comes not only from how you think, but from how you live. Live for God. Live for
Christ. Allow their will to become yours.
"And now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to
build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified." [Acts 20:32]
