Revelation 21

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed
away; and there was no more sea.

(2)  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  

(3)  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them,
and be their God.  (4)  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be
no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the
former things are passed away.  

(5)  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.  

(6)  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will
give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  (7)  He that overcometh
shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  (8)  But the fearful, and
unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and
idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:
which is the second death.  

(9)  And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the
seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the
Lamb's wife.  

(10)  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that
great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,  (11)  Having the glory of
God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as
crystal;  (12)  And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve
angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children
of Israel:  (13)  On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates;
and on the west three gates.  (14)  And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in
them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.  

(15)  And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof,
and the wall thereof.  (16)  And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the
breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and
the breadth and the height of it are equal.  (17)  And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred
and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.  
(18)  And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear
glass.  (19)  And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of
precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a
chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;  (20)  The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh,
chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a
jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.  (21)  And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every
several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent

(22)  And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of

(23)  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of
God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.  

(24)  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the
earth do bring their glory and honour into it.  

(25)  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.  

(26)  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.  (27)  And there shall in no
wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh
a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
resurrection of the dead and the judgment. The Epilogue is a new heaven and a new earth – a new place of residence for the people of
God. No longer are they on this vale of tears, they have been transformed and translated.

They have met Jesus in the air.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not,
even as others which have no hope.  (14)  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus
will God bring with him.  (15)  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming
of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  (16)  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  (17)  Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Now the saints will be with the Lord forever in a new heaven and a new earth. There will be no more sea – no more evil and darkness.


In the tradition of the early Jewish people, the sea represented uncontrollable chaos. The sea represented something that could
appear calm but from which could come terrible storms and unpredictable bad circumstances.  The sea came to signify the powers
of evil and the powers of darkness.


John sees the new Jerusalem adorned as a bride – the bride of Christ. This is a reference to the church.

Hebrews 12:18-29  For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and
darkness, and tempest,  (19)  And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the
word should not be spoken to them any more:  (20)  (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a
beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:  (21)  And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I
exceedingly fear and quake:)  (22)  But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem,
and to an innumerable company of angels,  (23)  To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven,
and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,  (24)  And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to
the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.  (25)  See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they
escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from
heaven:  (26)  Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but
also heaven.  (27)  And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made,
that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.  (28)  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us
have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:  (29)  For our God is a consuming fire.

Ephesians 5:22-33  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.  (23)  For the husband is the head of the
wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.  (24)  Therefore as the church is subject unto
Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.  (25)  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave himself for it;  (26)  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  (27)  That he
might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without
blemish.  (28)  So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.  (29)  For no man ever
yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:  (30)  For we are members of his body, of his
flesh, and of his bones.  (31)  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two
shall be one flesh.  (32)  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.  (33)  Nevertheless let every one of
you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
A great voice from heaven declares the message of God. The Tabernacle of God is now fulfilled. The representation of God
presence is now to be a reality. The tabernacle in the wilderness was a foreshadow of the church. The church was the foreshadow
of heaven. As difficulties were removed physically in the Old Testament, so difficulties were removed spiritually in the New
Testament, and they are removed both physically and spiritually in heaven. There will now be no reason for tears – no death, no
sorrow, no crying, no pain. All the things which created tears will be removed.

Hebrews 11:13-16  These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of
them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.  (14)  For they that say such things
declare plainly that they seek a country.  (15)  And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they
might have had opportunity to have returned.  (16)  But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not
ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?  (15)  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath
he that believeth with an infidel?  (16)  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living
God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  (17)  Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,  (18)  And
will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

God had made this promise under the Old Testament and repeated it under the New Covenant. Now, it will be no longer a promise of an
invisible presence; but, the declaration of an eternal visible presence.
Now, it is the voice of God from His throne – the voice of heavenly authority – which declares that all things have been made new.

2 Peter 3:10-13  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great
noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  (11)  Seeing
then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  (12)  
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements
shall melt with fervent heat?  (13)  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein
dwelleth righteousness.

The word of God is true and faithful.

Psalms 119:160  Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.  

God is the Alpha (beginning) and Omega (end). He was the giver of life in the beginning, and He is the giver of life in the end. He
controlled access to the Tree of Life in the beginning, and He will control access to the Fountain of the water of life in the end. He blocked
access to life in Eden, He will grant all who are in the city access to life in Heaven.

John 4:10-15  Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink;
thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.  

(11)  The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living
water?  (12)  Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his

(13)  Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:  (14)  But whosoever drinketh of the
water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into
everlasting life.  

(15)  The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

The fearful, the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, the whoremongers, the sorcerers, the idolaters, the liars will not have a part
in this city – they will have no part in the kingdom delivered up unto God. They shall be consigned to Hell – the lake which burns with fire
and brimstone, which is the second death.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators,
nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  (10)  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor
drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.  (11)  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but
ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  
(20)  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  (21)  Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God.

One of the angels which delivered the last plagues, now takes on a new mission: to show John the bride, the Lamb’s (Jesus’) wife – the
church as it appears in the New Age.

John was placed at a position where he could see the whole city (as if on a great and high mountain). High enough to see over a 1,500
mile high wall. What he sees is the holy Jerusalem (the church) descending out of heaven. The glory of God lights the city with the luster
of a precious stone. Although jasper is mentioned, the description is more illustrative of a diamond – clear as crystal. The city has twelve
gates upon which are written the name of the twelve tribes of Israel. The gates are found on every wall, equally distributed. Whether God’s
people come from the north, the south, the east or the west – any and all directions – they may enter the city and have a part here in
heaven.  There is an entrance for all the people of God, represented by the twelve tribes. It is built upon twelve foundations, which are
inscribed with the names of the apostles. The foundation of the city is the doctrine of the apostles.

Ephesians 2:19-22  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household
of God;  (20)  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  
(21)  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:  (22)  In whom ye also are builded
together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

The angel carried a golden reed with which he could measure the city. It was a perfect cube – the length, the width and the height being
the same.   Twelve thousand furlongs – 220 yards per furlong = 2,640,000 yards – was its size. 26,400 times the length of a football field.
Over 1,500 miles. Half of the distance across the North American continent. There is room for all the people of God. The wall was 144
cubits thick – 216 feet. There was ample protection.
The walls were made of jasper (probably a reference to diamonds), and the city was of pure gold, polished to a mirrored appearance.
The foundation of the the walls were precious stones – jewels. From a visual  standpoint, the foundation is a rainbow of color
(representative of the promises of God). Jasper (diamond – clear), sapphire (blue), chalcedony (green, blue, pink, red, purple, black,
white, grey, brown, orange, or yellow), emerald (green), sardonyx (black and white), sardius (ruby – red), chrysolite (green or yellow), beryl
(green, yellow, white, red, blue, pink, purple, brown, or orange), topaz (blue, yellow, green, pink, purple, white, brown, grey, orange, or red),
chrysoprasus (green), jacinth (reddish-orange zircon), and amethyst (purple) form the foundation of the wall. Each of the twelve gates
were made of a single pearl. And the streets were pure gold, polished to a transparent finish.

There was not a temple inside the city. They did not need a house for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb, because they were there
throughout the entire city.

Revelation 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon
him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my
God: and I will write upon him my new name.

The sun nor the moon had any place in the New Age. The glory of God which blinded Moses, and the people of Israel, provided light; as
did the presence of the Lamb (as it did on the mount of transfiguration).

John 1:4-5  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  (5)  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended
it not.

John_8:12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.

John_9:5  As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

John_12:46  I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

1Thessalonians_5:5  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

1 Peter 2:9-10  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the
praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:  (10)  Which in time past were not a people, but are
now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

1 John 1:5-10  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no
darkness at all.  (6)  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:  (7)  But if we walk
in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  
(8)  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  (9)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  (10)  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and
his word is not in us.

All who are saved of every nation upon the earth, shall bask in the glory of God, and the light of the Lamb. It makes no difference whether
they are peons or kings, they will walk together subject to the Father and the Son. For they are King of kings, and Lord of lords.

1 Timothy 6:13-16  I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius
Pilate witnessed a good confession;  (14)  That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our
Lord Jesus Christ:  (15)  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of
lords;  (16)  Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see:
to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

There shall never be a time when the light does not shine, nor a time when access to this city shall be closed to the saved.

The glory and honor of the nations are subservient to this city. No matter what authority, no matter how great is the glory, no matter how
magnificent the honor, it is subservient to the heavenly Jerusalem. Nothing which defiles, nothing which works abomination, nothing
which makes a lie – none of these shall enter the holy city, Only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:1-5

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God
and of the Lamb.  (2)  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the
tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of
the tree were for the healing of the nations.  
(3)  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his
servants shall serve him:  (4)  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.  
(5)  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord
God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

The angel showed John the river of the water of life. It flowed out of the throne of God, which was also the throne of the Lamb. On both
sides of the river was the tree of life. The tree born twelve fruits once every month (twelve months). The leaves of the tree were used to
bring the nations together.

In the garden in Eden God had blocked access to the tree of life. Now, in the heavenly Jerusalem, access is free to whoever will. There is
fruit for all who would seek to eat. There is a river of water that gives life. Everything is situated to provide for the people who are written in
the Lamb’s book of life, who live in the city.

The curse of man is no more. The curse of man is sin. It is sin that separated man from God, and from the garden in Eden, which sent
him in separation from the tree of life. But, now, rather than being separated from God, they are reunited with Him. The throne of God and
the Lamb is with the saved. The citizens of the kingdom serve God and Christ. Where man was not allowed to see more than the glory of
God, now they shall see His face. They are sealed, they are branded as the servants of God.

There is no darkness, no night, there. Therefore, they do not need any artificial light, nor do they need the natural illumination of the sun.
The Lord God and His glory provide the light. The servants of God shall reign for ever and ever. They shall live and reign with God for all
